Equinox: A Tipping Point

Ever since Lughnasadh on August 1st/2nd, the energies of autumn have been able to be felt. They have been very subtle, but for those who find the intensity of light too much, this subtleness brings hope and relief. For others who thrive in the intensity of light, activity and being seen, these waning energies bring a sense of despair. No matter how you receive these energies, change is coming to us all.
Throughout these last weeks of heat and heaviness so beautifully expressed in the thick, leathery dark green leaves and the dusty, parched earth, the presence of endings has been coming closer and closer.
As Earth rotates and Her southern hemisphere orients towards the growing light, we in the northern hemisphere begin to turn inward as we welcome in the returning dark.
A TIPPING POINT
Equinox is a tipping point, that moment in the annual seasonal cycle when there is no turning back. The dark or the light can now be felt to be well and truly coming. For those of us in the north we find our psyches preparing ourselves for the dark. And those in the south are turning towards the growing and blossoming energies promised by the returning light.
This tipping point grows out of a shifting balance, the moment when day and night and the polarities of light and dark are seen and felt in equal measure. Then, as Earth continues on her annual journey the surety of the coming dark is undeniable and likewise the coming light. One can no longer retrieve the warmth of summer or the quiet dark of winter. In the north, change and the beauty and blessings of the season of release and letting go, of gratitude, and of anticipation for the rest and nurture the dark offers us so freely, is now firmly here.

THE LAND HOLDS ANTICIPATION
Here where I live in Maine the oak trees are not producing many acorns this year. The leaves of the maples seem to be turning a little earlier, and the birds are quieter. The land is hush as if waiting for the arrival of a great event. I’ve always felt that the natural world around me was wise and knew things, held secrets, that I could only hope and dream of ever knowing.
Sitting here looking out into the woodland from my writing nook, I can’t help but think that the trees, the stone, the birds know what’s coming. Like a friend who knows something that you don’t and looks at you with a twinkle in their eye. The presence of great change is approaching.
The mists lying heavy like an elven cloak above the wetlands, the woven spider webs glistening, the buzzing of wild bees at the calico asters, and the return of Orion and Venus in the early morning sky, all these and more give me hope that if I stay close to the Earth through this change that we’re all moving through now, that I’ll get to witness great beauty and the arrival of something incredibly powerful.

This equinox, this season of change is particularly potent. I’m looking forward to receiving it’s gifts and I’m grateful for what is arising.
I can feel the tipping point bringing about change within me, and I invite you to turn inward and tune into how the tipping point energies of equinox are present within you.
Happy Equinox!

I’ve always been a planner. My life ran on spreadsheets, to-do lists, and five-year goals. It was safe, predictable, and honestly, a little bit gray. I thought excitement was something you saw in movies, not something you could actually feel while sitting at your own desk.
A friend of mine, who’s the complete opposite of me, kept talking about this online platform he used. He called it his "mental gym." He wasn't chasing jackpots; he was there for the thrill of the game, the strategy. He mentioned the Vavada registration and login to the site process was his starting point.
One particularly tedious Tuesday, I gave in. I typed the address, and the Vavada registration and login to the site…
