Winter Solstice: A Time of Rest, Stillness & Liminality

Winter Solstice Greetings!

On this shortest day here in the Northern Hemisphere we are presented with an invitation.

The dark invites us to deny any cultural urgency, any external energies drawing us out, any persistent desire for becoming.

Tonight we join with the sun and enter a liminal space.

A time between the descent into darkness and the time of rising back up with the returning light. We've entered a time of rest and stillness.

Due to the angle of the Earth's tilt away from the sun here in the Northern Hemisphere, over these next three days the sun will continue to rise and set in the same location on the eastern and western horizon.

The days will begin to lengthen but for now we are invited to sit within the dark stillness, fully present to the liminality of this moment.

We've fully exhaled and have not yet taken our next breath in. This place is potent.

A quiet richness greets us.

May you experience the blessings of this liminal time and receive all the nourishing energies of the returning light!
